Our Location

Parachute is located on the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains about 40 miles east of Grand Junction and 200 west of Denver.  The town sits at the base of Mt. Callahan at an elevation of 5,092 feet with the Colorado River flowing east to west parallel to I-70. Parachute is conveniently located to regional commercial and general aviation airports, shopping, and the best outdoor recreation Colorado to offer.

Shopping within Parachute

Within the Town of Parachute, there’s a variety of shops, restaurants, retail stores, and a grocery market that provides all the essential household needs.  Some of these stores include Clark’s market, Napa Auto Parts, Dollar Tree, Lift Up Thrift Store, and Me Too Firearms.

Fifteen minutes east of town is Rifle where there’s a Walmart, City Market (Kroger Foods) and many other shops and restaurants. Glenwood Springs is about 40 minutes east of Parachute and provides additional shopping/restaurant options including a Target, Marshalls, Ulta, Office Depot, and many other smaller shops at boutiques. Grand Junction is located 40 miles west of Parachute and has more big-name retail stores you can find in any large city.

Outdoor Recreation

Parachute has immediate access to world class outdoor recreation by being located on the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains.  Within an hour drive of Parachute, you can be rafting, skiing/snowboarding, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and hunting in some of the most iconic locations the USA has to offer.
